Crossroads Elite Invitational: Class of 2025 Standouts (Pt. 2)

Wichita, Kan. — Coverage of the Crossroads Elite Invitational Camp continues as we dive back into a select group of players from the Class of 2025 that performed well at the 8th annual event held at Farha Sports Center on August 28th-30th, 2020. Although these prospects have yet to see any official action at the high school level, they appear poised to make an impact in the near future. Evan Sterck | St. Louis, MO | Class of 2025

A combo guard that plays with pace and savvy, Sterck looked comfortable in a catch-and-shoot role throughout CREI Camp, but wasn’t entirely relegated to a secondary role. As a primary ball-handler, Sterck capitalized on his opportunities, appearing confident against older players and capable of making decisions as a facilitator. The six-footer is a somewhat deceptive athlete, as he’s already a rim-level finisher, and may add a few more inches while his athleticism and strength continue to improve via natural maturation. His older brother, Evan Sterck, is also gaining interest as a potential Division I prospect in the Class of 2023.

Curtis Stinson, Jr. | West Des Moines, IA | Class of 2025

The son of former Iowa State standout and NBA D-League MVP (prior to its renaming), Curtis Stinson, Sr., the younger Stinson is a versatile, 6-foot-2 perimeter prospect, with enormous potential. The Iowa native is tracking as a player likely to receive ample attention at the next level due to his combination of talent, size/strength, as well as athleticism. He’s currently among a rare tier of young players in the Class of 2025 that produce fairly consistently in their current stage of development but also possess outstanding long-term upside. Expect to hear this name more often than not in Midwestern recruiting news during the coming years.

Avian Webb | Atchison, KS | Class of 2025

At CREI Camp, Webb was efficient with his touches against older players and demonstrated his capacity to both score and facilitate. As a scoring option, the Class of 2025 prospect is becoming more comfortable navigating screens and shooting off the dribble. In a passing role, Webb has a relatively advanced first-step when it comes to beating defenders off the dribble, and also exhibited the vision necessary to make the correct play. The next step is continuing to develop the array of intangibles needed to be a complete floor general. His older brother, Christian Bowen-Webb, is also gaining interest as a potential Division I prospect in the Class of 2022.

Sebastian Williams-Adams Sebastian Williams-Adams 6'5" | WF TX | Houston, TX | Class of 2025

Williams-Adams has continued to emerge as a promising prospect among the incoming eighth-grade class and only solidified that notion during the CREI Camp. Among a select group of middle school players selected to the event’s “Top 80” standout performers list, the 6-foot-5 wing is only beginning to hit his stride physically, and is rapidly becoming more comfortable as a ball-handler and scorer on the perimeter. It was an excellent homecoming weekend for Williams-Adams, who splits his time between Kansas and Texas, and has the profile to become a national talent in the Class of 2025. It should be exciting to monitor his progression as his confidence blossoms.

Carl’sheon Young Carl’sheon Young 6'4" | WG OK | Oklahoma City, OK | Class of 2025

An aggressive scorer with an advanced frame, Young fit right in alongside many of the nation’s best high school players at the CREI Camp. He’s as good of a dominant-hand finisher as you’ll find at the middle school level and his ability to turn the corner and attack the rim was effective even against much older players. The Oklahoma product is wired to score and his explosiveness is improving at an impressive rate. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to make such drastic physical strides while also continuing to polish his offensive arsenal off the bounce. If he can do both, Young is on an elite trajectory in the Class of 2025.
