C2C Preps Season Premiere: 1st Team Forwards | Class of 2025

Dallas, Tex. — The Coast2Coast Preps “Season Premiere” tournament provided an ideal opportunity to observe dozens of national-caliber prospects under one roof at Drive Nation Sports. During the event, I primarily focused my efforts on the seventh and eighth-grade divisions while also taking in a sampling of sixth-grade teams and players. Overall, I could not have asked for a more productive weekend evaluating youth hoops talent! Here are my choices as “1st Team All-Season Premiere” selections among the eighth-grade (Class of 20205) wing forwards in attendance…

Brady Hancuff | Edmond, OK | Class of 2025

A versatile 6-foot-4 perimeter prospect, I was extremely intrigued by Hancuff’s progression since my last observation to begin the year. Not only has he grown physically, but his confidence has improved, and his game has risen to a new level. At the Coast2Coast Preps “Season Premiere” tournament, Hancuff took the reigns for Team Buddy Buckets (OK), exhibiting enhanced fluidity off the bounce and a propensity for shotmaking. While he continues to be very much under the radar when it comes to the current eighth-grade group in Oklahoma, the skilled wing is a name to remember in the Southwest region from the Class of 2025.

Isiah Harwell Isiah Harwell 6'4" | WF ID | Pocatello, ID | Class of 2025

One of several nationally-recognized players in attendance for the Coast2Coast Preps “Season Premiere” event, Harwell and his Utah Drive teammates deserve a great deal of attention for their play in Dallas, as they were a possession away from overtaking H.H.B.C. (TX) and advancing to the 8th Grade Division platinum championship. The 6-foot-5 wing was once again a major contributor for his squad, further demonstrating his knack for making plays for himself and others with the ball in his hands. Harwell’s combination of physique and skill continue to set him apart from his peers in the Class of 2025.

Cameren Paul Cameren Paul 6'6" | WF TX | Dallas, TX | Class of 2025

Paul has blossomed from a relative unknown locally to a highly-regarded prospect nationally in a span of fewer than twelve months. The 6-foot-6 swingman was still in the process of regaining his stamina following an illness yet turned heads at the Coast2Coast Preps “Season Premiere” tournament with a physical profile that is second to none. A smooth ball-handler who boasts elite perimeter size and length at the eighth-grade level, Paul displayed high-flying athleticism, as well as flashes of a jumper that could ultimately make him a lethal three-level scorer. Immensely talented, consistency and aggressiveness will be key for Paul moving forward.

Koa Peat | Tempe, AZ | Class of 2025

The Coast2Coast Preps “Season Premiere” event was my first opportunity to evaluate Peat and he certainly did not disappoint. The 6-foot-6 forward showed explosiveness above the rim and an advanced feel and understanding of the game from an offensive standpoint. Peat shot the ball at a fairly consistent clip and capitalized on opportunities in the lane by putting his strong frame to use. The youngest of seven siblings, including current New Orleans Saints Pro Bowl offensive lineman Andrus Peat, his pedigree is certainly elite. His performance on this particular weekend immediately puts Peat in the discussion nationally among Class of 2025 prospects.

Deshon Scott | Houston, TX | Class of 2025

Another weekend, another championship for H.H.B.C. (TX) with Scott once again playing a major role. A powerful forward better known as “Gucci”, Scott has been regarded as one of the most dominant players in the country among his peers from the Class of 2025 for quite some time. However, the next step for the 6-foot-5 specimen of an eighth-grader in preparing to achieve individual success at the high school level will be the continued development of his all-around game on the perimeter. When engaged and competing with a high motor, Scott is a major mismatch problem, nearly impossible to keep out of the lane as a rebounder and finisher.
