Cedar City Showcase 2 Recap: C/O 2025 Standouts

The second Cedar City showcase took place on February 20th and 21st in Cedar City Utah. The event featured over 17 Nevada-based programs and offered an opportunity for players to gain some long-overdue exposure. The event was broken up into two days, Saturday was grassroots-focused, while Sunday was for the H.S programs. Because there was no age restriction, class of 2025 players competed against bigger, stronger varsity foes. In this article, we take a look a look at some of the c/o 2025 players that stood out at the event.

Chris Nwuli 6’6 SF LV Loyalty – For my money, Nwuli has to be one of the top players in his class on the WC. The Vegas Elite product made a guest appearance with his LV Loyalty squad on Saturday and wasted no time making an impact. You can’t help but start with his athleticism which is off the charts. Nwuli had several nasty dunks during the day. Where he becomes different is his skill, he has a decent handle and is a legit playmaker off the bounce. Was the clear-cut standout 2025 player at the event.

Mike Anderson 6’0 SF LV Shooters – I got to see quite a bit of Anderson during our West Coast Kickoff. He was good that weekend, but even better on Saturday. Although only 6’0 tall he has a devastating post-game, showing off the ability to score with his back to the basket. While he doesn’t shoot a ton of threes, he made a few and showed off a nice free throw line jumper when teams went 2-3.

Giancarlo Martina 5’7 PG LV Shooters – Although one of the smallest players on the court, Martina was fun to watch. He’s crafty and has a slick handle. He had a couple of highlight plays including a ridiculous crossover that had his opponent searching for his balance. He shot it ok when open, but mostly I was impressed with his toughness playing against bigger, stronger opposition.

Mark Beeten 5’8 PG Blue Hoops – Beeten played on Sunday with Blue Hoops against H.S Varsity competition. A high IQ player, he did a good job of limiting turnovers and playing his role. When he was left open, he took his shot and held his own on the defensive end. It was an encouraging start for the young player.

Tommy Isbell 5’10 PG Blue Hoops – Isbell showed why he is one of the top players in his class. I can’t wait to see him and fellow rising 2025 guard Jevon Yapi in the backcourt. On Sunday Isbell played like a Dawg, he wasn’t the best player on the court, but he played well, showing the ability to create his own shot against bigger, stronger competition. He has a good feel for the game and understands when to look for his teammates and when to get his own shot.
