Ladera Ranch, Cal. – The Prep Hoops Next West Coast Kick-Off was this past weekend at the Ladera Sports Center in Orange County, California. As I was not actually present in California, I was able to catch the action on Saturday on live stream via BallerTV. Below are some notes on prospects that caught my eye.

2025 Jack Eggington of AZ Select Tucson stood out immediately because of his size standing at 6’4. He finished well under the rim and does a good job of scoring through contact. Egginton displayed good footwork as he knows how to get past his defenders and is skilled with the basketball in his hands. He was one of the most efficient scoring post players that I evaluated Saturday largely because of his cratisness around the rim. He was also a difference maker on defense as he was constantly altering shots.

2025 Jake Hall of Multilevel Basketball was constantly a scoring threat all day for Multilevel. He is a tremendous shooter that has deep range on his shot. He has good confidence with his shot as he is shot ready whenever the ball is passed to him. He also knows how to get to the free throw line where he got a handful of his points from on Saturday. Hall was one of the best scorers in the gym on Saturday.

2025 Tyler Bright dominated in the low post from start to finish for West Coast Select on Saturday. The 6’6 forward is a complete mismatch for teams at the 8th grade level and he showed that on Saturday. Bright’s teammates constantly ran their offense through Bright as he was finishing everything under the rim. He kept possessions alive from his offensive rebounding ability and got easy put-backs right after securing rebounds. Bright has been one of the best low post players from the 2025 class that I have seen so far.

2025 Tayshawn Caesar is the lead guard for West Coast Select and one of the better all around guards I saw on Saturday. Caesar is a quick point guard and uses his speed and agility to separate from defenders. He distributes the ball at a high level as he showed off some great passes. When he is not passing the ball, he can score it in a variety of ways. He can catch and shoot from multiple areas on the floor and also displayed a nice floater. Caesar is one of the top guards from this event to monitor closely going forward.

When it comes to talking about who had the most dominating performance on Saturday, 2025 Brayden Burries of Team DTermined takes the prize home for that. Buries could not be stopped while attacking the rim due to his athleticism and length standing at 6’4. He was basically doing whatever he wanted to do with the basketball in his hands. Defensively he can guard multiple positions which will allow him to do a lot defensively in high school. Burries looks to be an elite prospect from the class of 2025.

2025 Isaiah Cunningham Isaiah Cunningham 6'2" | WG WA is a name that I have seen and heard a lot about and he did not disappoint on Saturday. Cunningham has a knack to score the basketball and his overall scoring package was on full display for Gametime 2025. Cunningham will be ranked in our 2025 national rankings that will be published soon.
