Nasir Williams, 5-11, SG, NEBC (pictured above)
Smooth athlete with good length and uses it in a classic slasher’s role, likes to attack from the wing and get downhill, nice understanding of how to find offense and gets points in bunches.
Asim Hardy, 5-5, SG, NEBC
Another of the weekend’s best pure shooters, effortless get-off from the catch or off the dribble, big-time range well past the line, compact but strongly;y built showed a willingness to draw and score through contact.
Lance Stone, Jason Harris, Robert Smith, D Rice Elite
This trio of troublemakers all bright similar skill-sets to bear on opponents, all 3 can really defend and get in your face, all 3 played with the ball in their hands but did damage coming off the wings, all 3 showed exceptional IQ and court vision setting up their talented bigs or taking advantage of numbers situations – Stone excelled a bit more in the PG role where he could show off his creativity and swagger but still hurt you from the perimeter, Harris was so physical and really skilled on the attack to the rim with a blow-by ability to go with the power, Smith was your glue-guy who shined with all the intangibles be it defending, setting up teammates or going hard on the drive or off the boards.
Syncere Simons and Marcus McQueen, EZ Work Elite
A pair of 3-point bombers wit a ton of swag with the ball in their hands, not afraid to pull and pull it fast from any spot, Simons does a little more slashing to the basket while McQueen is looking for the spot up, both can handle the ball and like all their teammates showed exceptional unselfishness and vision.
Moses Haynes and Julius Gizzi, D1 Indiana
Only fitting we’d find two players in Indiana who model the Hoosier-state like these two – well-drilled with solid fundamentals who sneakily beat you at both ends with, in Haynes’ case, great vision and underrated quickness with an ability to launch it from deep, and Gizzi just plain out-hustling and out-witting the defense to hurt you from the perimeter, on cuts to the basket or out-working you off the glass.
Damon Howard Jr, 5-6, PG, Progeny
Aggressive going to the hole, not overly tall but plays a physical style of a much bigger player particularly on the push, love the IQ and the defensive chops were among the weekend’s best.
Brent Wofford III, 5-5, SG, CMB Runnin Rebels
On a team full of studs across the board the type of contributions you get from Wofford might go unnoticed, but he’s just sound and smart and shorts, passes defends and gets you production without a lot of fanfare.
Deric Cannady, 5-10, SG, Team Teague Kim
Joins that list of pure shooting threats we’ve been talking about, about as pretty and sweet-looking a release as you’ll find at this level, must be marked or he can go on a tear from the arc.
Nate Lyman, 5-10, PG, All HEART
Grind-it-out PG who never gives in on a play or possession, moved off the ball when they needed a bucket from range or attacking the tin, didn’t shy away from guarding any of the deep cast of Teague guards thrown his way and gave them all they could handle.
