Wisconsin Elite took the title in a tough battle with KC Prodigy. Below is the 13U All-Tournament team (presented in alphabetical order):
First Team:
Markeith Drane, 5-foot-10, SG, Team Teague:
A dynamic athlete, Drane’s spring and quickness make him a disruptive force at the defensive end. His superior athleticism seems to leads to several steals and run-outs each game. He’s up around the rim going after blocked shots and pulling in rebounds. He has the skills to produce in the lane and on the perimeter, and he gets to the line a lot. But it was at the defensive end that he earned all-tournament notice.
Lamont Hamilton, 5-foot-8, CG, Wisconsin Elite
Amongst the great performances at Kansas City, Wisconsin guard Lamont Hamilton stood out for his ferocious defense and brilliant playmaking. He has lightning-quick hands and can totally demoralize an opposing ball handler. With feet to match the quickness of his hands, Hamilton is a blur defending in the back court. With the ball, he slices through the full-court traffic like everyone else is in slow motion. He was one of the very best ball handlers in Kansas City.
Logan Hillman, 6-foot, SF, Triple Threat:
Hillman is a long, lean forward with great ball skills. His ball-hawking at the defensive end turned into numerous fast breaks. Hillman has great hands, vision, and ability to create open shots. He works to get his teammates involved, but he has the superior athleticism to just take what he wants.
Kalan McClung, SF, KC Prodigy:
A big, strong forward. McClung put up a good fight in the championship loss to Wisconsin Elite with 14 points. He has really nice touch with a quick jumper in the lane, and some crafty moves to free up his jump hook. He has very soft hands to receive passes, but has the strength to corral a lot of rebounds.
Ed Vinson, Jr., 5-foot-8, CG, Wisconsin Elite:
Vinson was the Wisconsin club’s leading scorer in the championship game with 13. He is a steady ball handler who shares the point guard duties with Hamilton. He is a bulldog with the ball, able to put his head down and power his way to an open shot. His powerful frame is also effective at the defensive end, where he hounds opposing guards with strength and quick hands.
Second Team:
Deron Childs, PF, KC Prodigy
Elijah Jones, 5-foot-1, PG, PBA Elite (featured image)
Braylon Ellison, 6-foot-4, C, PBA Elite
Robbie Reddick, 5-foot-9, SG, Team Teague
