Ashton Pierce | Huntersville, NC | Class of 2026
Make no mistake about it, Pierce’s future is in the backcourt, but on this particular weekend, the North Carolina resident primarily filled the role of wing player for his Florida Vipers (FL) club. During the Rumble Under The Palms event, the 3rd Team All-Tournament recipient often found himself accepting the difficult task of defending taller, longer, and stronger players for a guard-oriented roster. Pierce showcased a smooth jumper and the ability to create his own offense off the bounce, scoring in double figures in each of his five games with his team’s only loss coming in pool play to eventual seventh-grade champion, AllBall (FL).
Helio Quinan | Kissimmee, FL | Class of 2026
Quinan is transitioning his game to the perimeter but showed the ability to impact play on the interior based on his performances throughout the Rumble Under The Palms event with the Powerhouse Bulls (FL). The 5-foot-10 forward was awarded honorable mention All-Tournament, flashing shooting touch from the perimeter but also displaying a strong base, which allowed him to collect rebounds and finish through contact on the interior. The seventh-grade prospect of Brazilian descent may ultimately find himself slotted into a backcourt position but is most effective utilizing his array of skills to move around the court with freedom at this level.
Jai Richburg | Greensboro, NC | Class of 2026
Richburg’s play on opening day at Rumble Under The Palms earned him immediate acclaim and he closed out the event with similar results. A 2nd Team All-Tournament selection, the athletic forward helped CSB Elite (NC) capture the top-seed in their pool, with their sole loss of the weekend coming during the tournament semifinals to eventual champions, AllBall (FL). The seventh-grade frontcourt prospect posted a team-high 13 points in that game as well as a double-double performance against the Carolina Underdogs (SC). Few competed harder than Richburg and his team-first approach and consistent level of effort did not go unnoticed.
Cameron Thompson | Charlotte, NC | Class of 2026
A lengthy forward with burgeoning explosiveness, Thompson’s energy level, and timely scoring around the rim helped the seventh-grade CLT1 Sports (NC) team cap off a successful weekend at Rumble Under The Palms with a winning record. The versatile frontcourt prospect has an intriguing mix of physical tools and is equipped to play either forward position at this stage. In a 14-point performance against Team USC Metro (SC), Thompson exhibited his slashing ability in the halfcourt, as well as his penchant for finishing in transition. A rim-level athlete, based on his showings at this event, it’s fair to predict the best is yet to come for Thompson.
Kymani Weathers | Maitland, FL | Class of 2026
A 3rd Team All-Tournament honoree, Weathers’ physical profile was among the most impressive of any prospect at the Rumble Under The Palms tournament, regardless of grade division. The Class of 2026 forward stands 6-foot-4, has quick lift off the floor, and runs rim to rim with absolute ease. Simply put, the gifts at Weathers’ disposal are plentiful, but he’ll need to demonstrate consistent production in order to amass the accolades that a player of his ability should receive. There’s certainly time for Weathers to reach his potential and Central Florida Rising Stars (FL) plan to test their roster immediately with a national schedule this season.
