Congratulations to the following players for being recognized as All-Tournament selections from the event’s eighth-grade division. Be sure to check back throughout the week as our team of scouts will provide additional recaps featuring even more of the top performers from the Class of 2025 who participated in the tournament…
1ST TEAM | RUMBLE UNDER THE PALMS
Jaylen Bates | West Palm Beach, FL | Class of 2025
A strong and compact combo guard, Bates helped lead his Florida Vipers (FL) club into the Rumble Under The Palms championship game, and a 3-1 record on the weekend. The South Florida native recorded double-digit scoring outputs in all four contests, including his tournament-high 19 points versus Penny Ball Academy (FL). Bates’ steady play throughout the event in addition to his team’s success solidified his nomination for 1st Team All-Tournament honors. A capable ball-handler, he was aggressive attacking off the bounce, and showed the ability to create his own offense by penetrating into the lane and finishing at the rim.
TyQuan McDuffie | Columbia, SC | Class of 2025
A talented backcourt prospect, McDuffie thrived in transition for Team Unleashed (SC), and provided several electric performances during the Rumble Under The Palms tournament despite a heartbreaking loss in the semifinals. McDuffie’s 20-point explosion against CPCA (FL) is evidence of his ability to turn digits on the scoreboard but he also provided an excellent defensive presence on the perimeter for his team. The South Carolina resident used his quickness and athleticism to disrupt passing lanes and smother opponents attempting to create off the dribble. Older brother, Chase McDuffie, is a 2021 recruit and is committed to NC A&T.
Isaac Mothersill | Hollywood, FL | Class of 2025
Mothersill starred in his lead guard role at Rumble Under The Palms with Penny Ball Academy (FL). Although he scored in double figures in three of his club’s four games, including a 17-point performance against G-Force Ryders (FL), his most impressive and important trait was likely his vision and passing touch in the lane. Utilizing his strength and explosive first-step, Mothersill consistently beat defenders off the bounce, kept his dribble alive, and continually found ways to create and facilitate offense for his team. Following a loss in their opening contest, his squad reeled off a trio of consecutive victories, resulting in the Gold Division championship.
Jordan Mundle | Kissimmee, FL | Class of 2025
There was a theme of strong and athletic backcourt prospects having their way with the field in the eighth-grade division at the Rumble Under The Palms tournament. Mundle was an excellent example of such a guard, as the strapping perimeter performer helped his Florida Suns (FL) team claim the top seed in their pool, and advance into the championship bracket. In a pool-clinching victory against the CSU Kings (FL), Mundle scored a game-high 23 points, and dished out a handful of assists. He produced double-digit scoring outputs in all but one of his club’s games during the weekend while securing his 1st Team All-Tournament selection.
Ja’mariion ‘JD’ Palm | Dothan, AL | Class of 2025
As the “Most Outstanding Player” in the eighth-grade division at the Rumble Under The Palms event, the 6-foot-9 Alabamian was covered extensively throughout the weekend, and will undoubtedly continue to attract attention. The lefty post prospect is an excellent athlete with blossoming face-up skills offensively but he also possesses the physical tools necessary to be a difference-maker on defense. His 17-point performance against the Florida Vipers (FL) in the championship game was perhaps his most impressive outing of the tournament as Palm left no doubt that the Tri-City Elite (GA) program would leave with the title in-hand.

Janiel De Los Santos | Florida Suns (FL)
