The 13U division featured four teams that posted undefeated records in pool play and Texas Summitt dominated Championship Sunday just as they did in the 12U division. The article below features 15 of the best players from the Sooner State Showdown in the 13U division.
1st Team
Jonathon Vanbreun 5’9″ G/F Next Page Force (featured image) – Jonathon Vanbreun has a complete game and does it all on the offensive end. He plays fast, gets to the basket, and has a nice jumper. Vanbreun can finish around the basket with either hand and showed off his three-level scoring ability all weekend long. He is also a solid on-ball defender that gives ball handlers no air space and brings excellent effort.
Kordarion Lee 5’8″ F ODE – Kordarion Lee looked great in transition in ODE’s 52-51 narrow loss to Razorbacks Elite and was often the best player on the court. He finished with 16 points in this game and used his athleticism to pull rebounds over bigger players and proved to be a great scorer around the basket. He also was a solid defender and already seems to be experienced at taking charges.
Kemartrai Clark 5’11” F Razorbacks Elite – Clark did a little bit of everything for the Razorbacks, he’s an excellent rebounder and a good finisher around the goal. He has a strong off hand and showed that he can score when going downhill as well as occasionally with his back to the basket. His best skill was his consistent high motor and his defensive versatility.
David Coe 5’10 G Texas Summit – Coe is a physically gifted athlete with an impressive frame. He did damage out in transition, always finishing ahead of the pack, and showed that he could knock down the open 3. Perhaps the best indication of how good Coe was this weekend was the fact that he makes the 1st team despite missing the Championship game with an injury.
Antoine Almutter 5’11 F Texas Summit – A big strong physical presence Almutter provided the muscle for the 13 champs. He used his frame to carve out space down low, and grab in traffic rebounds. He was good when playing downhill, but a lot of that had to do with the fact that players were forced to make business decisions when they saw him coming.
