Manheim, Pa.- The opening day of the A-Game Super Shootout was exciting as teams were duking it out for position in their pools. The 8th Grade Platinum Division was filled with intense, high-level basketball as numerous players stood out. Here are the 2025 Day 1 Standouts from the A-Game Super Shootout.

Meleek Thomas Meleek Thomas 6'2" | WG PA : 6’2 WG New York Lightning, Pittsburgh

Thomas was downright dominant in pool play as defenders had trouble containing him. The 6’2 guard has a nice handle and was effective pushing the tempo in transition. Thomas was able to get by his defender consistently and finished through contact. He has a good release on the jumper and used his hands effectively on the defensive end. Thomas is a talented guard who should make an impact on the varsity level in the near future.

Jermel Thomas: 5’9 PG Riverside Hawks, Bronx (2026)

Thomas may have been playing up all weekend, but he was still able to show out. The 5’9 guard was making great passes all game as he was constantly playing with his head up and making unselfish decisions. Thomas played fast, but never seemed out of control. He was good at finishing around the basket
