The Prephoops Next Circuit has been amazing. With so many stops all over the country, there have been tons of opportunities to showcase some of the top middle school talents in the country. I’ve been fortunate to attend three events. The West Coast Kick-Off in Ladera, CA, the Sooner State Shootout in Edmonds, OK, and War In The Valley In Phoenix. Guard play has dominated the circuit start with some remarkable Floor Generals leading the way. In this article, we break down my top 10 point guards from the circuit.
- Cal Furnish 5’9 PG Team Griffin 2025 – Furnish is a pure pg that understands the game at a high level. He’ll protect the ball for you, and does a terrific job of getting his teammates a good shot. His unselfish nature and high IQ blend perfectly with the talented Team Griffin squad.
- Jevon Yapi 5’8 All Vegas 2025 (featured image) – Yapi is quickly becoming a social media sensation. His, quickness, slick handle, and creative passing have lead to his share of highlights. Behind the flash lies a talented, competitive PG not afraid to take the big shot for his team.
- Kayden Edwards 6’2 CG Southern Assault – Perhaps the fastest player on the circuit with the ball in his hands. Edwards gets end to end in a blur, putting tremendous pressure on defenses. On the defensive end, he is perhaps one of the best on-ball defenders in his class.
- Nasir Price 6’0 CY Fair Elite 2025 – It’s been nearly impossible for anyone to stay in front of Price. He can go for 0 to 60 in a split second, screaming downhill to finish at the rim.
- Latavious Morris 5’6 PG JB White Elite 2025 – Watching Morris and Yapi go at it at War In The Valley, was one of the treats of the circuit. Morris is a creative playmaker with some major wiggle. He plays with good pace, understanding how to use heights and speeds to elude defenders. His ability to shoot off the bounce is one of the best on the circuit.
- Jason Crowe Jr 5’6 PG The Truth 2026 – The lefty is an absolute assassin. I still marvel at his deep three to help The Truth win a game at Ladera. Crowe has good wiggle and is able to create and shoot off the bounce.
- Ty Johnson 5’5 PG Sneaker Steal 2025 – Johnson is one of the top distributors in his class. My favorite part about him is his ability to make the easy play. Johnson will feed the post, or hit the open man after drawing two defenders.
- Tyus Thomas 5’8 West Coast 2026 – Thomas is one of the more efficient PGs on the circuit. He seems to make the correct decision every time down the floor. When he’s open he can bury the 3, when crowded he has the quickness to blow by defenders. A good playmaker that creates for himself and his teammates.
- MIles Williams 5’9 Progress Feels Best – Williams is a P&R specialist that plays with terrific pace. He understands how to fundamentally come off shoulder to shoulder and either gets to the rim to finish or hits the roller for easy buckets.
- (Tie) Daylon Mike 5’9 YBA 2026 – If Mike was a quarterback, he would be known as a game manager. He plays alongside two of the most lethal scorers on the circuit and goes out of his way to make sure they get their shots. 10 (Tie) Brandon Mason JR 5’6 2026 JB White Elite – BMJ is a floor-spacing PG. He has a good handle and will set up teammates especially when executing fast breaks, however, his best ability is his ability to knock down shots.
