In an action packed two days, Prep Hoops Next was able to evaluate prospects from each middle school age group. | New York Lightning | Class of 2025
Diakite has been on the national scene for quite some time now and this past weekend in Manheim at the A-Game SuperShootout he reminded us why he is considered one of the top prospects in the class of 2025. Diakite finished everything above the rim with multiple two handed dunks and altered many shots. Diakite did everything we expected to see of him leading his New York Lightning team to the 8th grade platinum championship ultimately beating Team Thrill in the finals.
Daveyon Lynder | Team Thrill | Class of 2025
Lynder was a new name for the Prep Hoops Next crew and showed a lot of promise with his ability to make shots. Lynder was one of the top shot makers in the 8th grade platinum division. Lynder has text book form on a high arching release and was a reliable offensive option for Team Thrill in helping them reach the 8th grade platinum championship game.
Pete Mauro | BlackOps | Class of 2025
Mauro was one of the most impressive players at the A-Game SuperShootout and is looking to be a priority recruit for many colleges as he enters high school next fall. Mauro has a tremendous skill set at the guard position and looks like a player that could be helping a lot of varsity high schools teams already. To go along with his handle, he is a terrific shooter that can shoot it from all over the floor. Mauro has been one of the best guards I have seen in the 2025 class.
Cortlin Siska | DC Premier Black | Class of 2025
Siska, who is currently 6’0, just got done playing his first year of basketball while still in 8th grade at Fairfax Chrstian School where he actually one a State Championship. Siska is another prospect that has good upside because of his size and length. Siska showed he is skilled offensively and plays with a high motor. Siska was one of the major bright spots for the DC Premier program at the A-Game Super Shootout.
Chris Thomas | Team Thrill | Class of 2025
Thomas is a prospect that has been on the radar for us some a little while now and he did not disappoint this past weekend at the A-Game Super Shootout. The 6’5 forward has a lot of strength to go with his height which allowed him to be dominant in the low post for Team Thrill. He ran the floor well which opened up his teammates to dump the ball to him while in transition. Thomas even showed that he can hit a mid range jumper down. How his body develops will be key for us to project his future as he enters high school.
