The fans, players, and coaches all brought intense, electric energy throughout the weekend. The competition on the court was stiff for all ages, from 11U up to 14U and teams fought tough and nail to leave this tournament on top. Here we’ll take a look at the most outstanding scorers of the 13U division.
Jakyran Madden | Bentonville, AR | Arkansas Athletes Outreach 2026
This Arkansas prospect was slick, slippery, and very smooth off the attack. Madden is a right-handed baller that always looked to take his man left, usually getting his defender off balance with a shifty left to right, between the legs crossover before exploding past the defense for the finish. He also had a quick hesitation move that he loved to pull out when tightly guarded. The lengthy guard displayed the skills of someone mastering the art of drawing fouls, every single time Jakyran got inside the lane he either made the shot, went to the foul line, or both. Madden used spin moves, hop steps, and head fakes that got his defenders off balance and off their feet every time. Great body control, it was incredible watching him lean into his defender, go up with a shot through their body, and draw the foul call, it was like he was gliding to the basket with the way he maneuvered in the air. Jakyran Madden put his full skillset on display, he even showed off his clutch gene against a talented Southern Assault team when his squad was down by 2 points. Madden hesitated, got his man slightly off their feet, and blew right past them to the hoop where he got fouled on the shot, then proceeded to nail 2 big-time free throws sending the game into double-overtime.
Carter Chism | Mount Pleasant, TX | Southern Assault 2026
Carter Chism is known for being an all-around scoring guard, and during this tournament, he showed everyone why. Chism showed the capability to create a shot whenever he pleased. He got buckets from all three levels of the floor by getting the defense to play right into his hand. Carter continuously got his man leaning left before quickly attacking with his right hand often getting all the way to the basket. When pulling up, Chism knocked down shots from well beyond the arc using his fluid release and follow-through. The Southern Assault guard also showed off his basketball savvy by finding ways to impact the game and get open without the ball, displaying a tendency for cutting through the lane at the exact time his teammates were looking to pass.
James Sanderson | Dallas, TX | R.J. Hampton Elite 2026
This young man is a true high-level bucket getter that can shoot your lights out and attack at will. James Sanderson can put on a scoring clinic on any given night and he does it all without forcing his offense, he knows how to pick and choose his spots and play within the flow of things. Don’t even think about stopping him in the open court, he’s extremely dangerous when going coast-to-coast with the rock, you never know how he’ll complete the possession.
David Lunn | Albuquerque, NM | JB White Elite 2026
David Lunn is a 2027 prospect that played up with the 2026s and dominated the competition as he’s been known to do. Lunn can score from any area on the court but he got the bulk of his points near the basket. Whether it was driving or cutting to the cup, this high percentage bucket getter consistently scored from right under the hoop. Lunn seemed like a master of getting to his spots and capitalizing, he proved to be very efficient whenever he was able to get the shot that he wanted. David Lunn is a young promising prospect with a game and an attitude that is mature well beyond its years.
Jase Tarver | Dallas, TX | R.J. Hampton Elite 2026
Jase Tarver is a unique prospect with a full set of skills, he has the handles, the IQ, the court vision, the scoring ability, and the defensive presence to affect things on the floor and change the outcome of the game. This young man stays poised and under control with everything he does, even when finishing layups through traffic and physicality he completes the play smoothly, easily, and with confidence. His ball-handling skills were impressive and gave him the ability to take his man head-on off the dribble from anywhere on the floor, keeping the defense honest at all times. Tarver displayed a true ability to become a point-forward with the way he ran the guard position. He saw the floor extremely well, his eyes were always up looking down the court for a teammate. Jase made accurate bounce and chest passes through the tightest windows and still got the ball into the hands of his teammates. Insanely high ceiling for Jase Tarver, in each and every game he was one of, if not the, best scorer, facilitator, defender, and rebounder on the floor. This kid has the natural talent along with the skills to truly become something by 2026.
