Best Game: Illinois Attack 2025 vs. Team 1848 2025
I did get the chance to watch a couple of overtime games yesterday but there was not more thrilling than the one that happened between Illinois Attack 2025 vs. Team 1848 2025. After coming in tied at 41 apiece at the end of regulation, both teams put in a similar effort in the first overtime and it all squared at 44 going into double overtime. Team 1848 2025 played excellent defense in double overtime including a clutch steal and three key free throws by Mikey Wildes (Kimberly, WI) to put the icing on the cake for Team 1848. Team 1848 2025 also got solid contributions from Collin Schultz, Cale Peed, Aaron Cullen, Maddox Cornette, and Roan Demovsky.
Best Overall Performance: Drew Daoust of Wisconsin Crusaders and Southern Door High School.
Daovst went for 22 points in the first outing I took in on Saturday vs. Team 1848 2025 and then 27 points vs. Team Tyus 2025 Blue. Holy cow is Drew Daovst a sharpshooter from outside. When you lose track of how many three-pointers this young man had on Day 2 that is a pretty good problem to have.
Best Backcourt Duo: Lamont Hamilton and Ed Vinson, Wisconsin Elite 2026
Lamont Hamilton and Ed Vinson went for 44 points combined in their blowout win against Top Flight 2025 Thomas. Hamilton looked to have the total package for what I watch for in a scoring guard. He has a big motor to get to the bucket and has tremendous poise in his game as a versatile scorer. Vinson went for 21 points and I came away impressed with his long arms as another player in the Wisconsin Elite 2026 backcourt that can stretch the floor really well especially in their game I saw on Saturday night.
