Aces Coca Cola Nationals Recap: Glue Guys

The Coca Cola Nationals took place June 18th – 20th in Garden Grove California. The event featured nearly 500 youth teams ranging from 2nd grade all the way to the 11th. This huge tournament-style event featured 5 competitive divisions for each age group. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, and Invite, which was the top division. I spent most of the weekend evaluating talent in the Invite division. Several players played key roles, helping their team win games. In this article, we take a look at the top Glue guys from the event.

Evan Sterck 6’1 PG Heights 2025 – At first glance, Sterck plays like a traditional PG, looking to manage the game. Then he just kills you with a dagger shot to stop a run or give his team the lead. He did this countless times on the Heights run to the 14U title. He has good size for his position, displayed a nice handle, and showed a high IQ.

Tyrell Miller Tyrell Miller 6'6" | PF CA 6’5 C Team AON 2025 (featured image) – Miller was one of the only bigs on a team full of guards. In AON’s 4 out 1 in system, Miller’s rebounding, rim running, and low post defense were a valuable comidity.

Tyrell Mill’er PF SF Soldiers 2025 – In an interesting quirk, there were two players with the same name playing the same position in the same division. Miller was an intriguing player for the Soldiers. A taller player, he displayed some skills, including shooting the ball out to about 15 feet and hitting cutters from the high post.

Achilles Reyna 6’2 C Seattle Rotary 2027 – Reyna played his role for a talented Rotary squad. He showed a solid motor and fluid running ability when sprinting the floor. He grabbed a few rebounds and was able to complete plays when set up around the rim.

Alvin Loving 6’2 PF SF Soldiers 2025 – Loving gave a grittiness and toughness to the Soldiers. He banged down low, carving out space to grab in traffic rebounds. He did the majority of his work on the defensive glass but did have a handful of offensive rebounds as well. His inside play helped the Soldiers make a run to the title game.

Amari Evans 6’4 SF Heights 2025 – Evans was the epitome of a glue guy. He did several things that went under the radar, including his ability to score the ball. Evans quietly grabbed rebounds, created plays, and scored at the rim for the eventual champs. Along with his intangibles, he chipped in 9 points in the title game.
