Best Game: D1 Minnesota Moore 2026 vs. Team Tyus 2026 Black. 13U D1 Championship game.
You could just feel the rush that full capacity crowds were back in Minnesota when you watched this one. I was on the next court over scouting another game, but I did watch the end of it as D1 Minnesota Moore got a last-second lay-in by Dothan Ijadimbola (Brooklyn Park) to put the icing on the cake for D1 Minnesota Moore. Watching D1 Minnesota Moore fall just short at our Battle at the Lakes event a few weeks back, you could tell they were playing with a chip on their shoulder in both games I witnessed today.
Best Energy: PJ Hoops (2027)
I got the first glimpse of this PJ Hoops squad first thing Saturday morning, and they wowed me then and did the same in the 12U D1 Championship game. These guys play with such high energy that those that do not understand the game as well as we do see it as too aggressive and too physical when it’s the exact opposite. If I did a team rankings for Prep Hoops Next in Minnesota, I am very sure I would put PJ Hoops as the #1 team in the state in the Class of 2027. If you want to see a few more standouts from PJ Hoops, check out these standouts from yesterday & the rest of the tournament.

Best Feel: Evan Miller, Minnesota Lightning Meyer (2027)
While I was watching one game end and the 12U D1 championship game start, the first half showed me a big 6’0 forward prospect that had such a good feel for the game at such a young age. That young man was Evan Miller (Rochester), who racked up 21 points in the game, but just looked like a future varsity starter in the making. His finishes showed tons of confidence when he had his back to the hoop and had some plays that made me think this could be a kid in his high school future that could play up due to how natural he looked in the low post. The Schaeffer Academy certainly has to be excited about this kid coming into their program.
