Although the event was cut short by a fight that escalated into a dangerous threat that cancelled the remaining games for the day, I was able to watch several young local teams and illuminate the next wave of talent in the Northeast.

– Team Takeover
Toatley was the best finisher from this event, leading TTO to a perfect 4-0 record that had the makings of a title run if not for the cancellation of the playoff games. Circus double-clutches, euro steps through defenders, finger rolls at the rim- his finishing package and athleticism allow him to score over taller defenders in the paint. The first-step burst and ability to finish through contact made him virtually un-guardable during stretches, which opened up the space to get off several open looks from three that were converted at an efficient clip. Once he marries his scoring touch in the paint to finding teammates in the opposite corner and hitting the trail big- he’ll be a very imposing offensive force.
’25 6’4 F Jaysaun Coggins– Team Spartans
Coggins did it all for Team Spartans on both ends of the floor, showcasing versatility and good movement skills for a young forward prospect. He plays above the rim- rebounding well and attacking guards off of switches on the defensive end with tenacity. A developing handle will be the key to unlocking even more potential on the offensive end, better allowing him to harness fluid strides and raw athleticism into good looks at the rim.
’26 6’ CG Elijah Barrett– Team Thrill
With a tight handle, smooth finishing ability, and a picture-perfect jumpshot- Barrett was the most advanced offensive threat that I saw this weekend. He showed a knack for setting up his defender on the fastbreak, forcing them to commit to one direction while attacking in the opposite direction to convert in the paint. Spin moves, euro steps, side-step jumpers from the free throw line, leaners after drawing the contact in the key- loved watching him operate in the halfcourt. You do not want to get caught on an island defensively against this guard prospect.
’26 5’7 PG Kameron Carter– Team Thrill
Carter’s feel for and command of the game were impressive throughout the weekend. Little nuances to his game showed the IQ and potential that he has as a floor general- attacking wide off the screen to force the drop big to commit and create an advantage opportunity, sitting on his defender’s strong hand, getting into his matchup’s airspace before the screen arrives to angle him away from the basket. He understands when he needs to shoot, when he needs to get a teammate going again offensively, when to pull the ball back out in transition to set up the offense, and when a passing window is too risky to attempt. His ability to pass and score combined with a great understanding for the game make him a difficult matchup for any opposing guard.
’25 5’8 PG Quron Elliott– Team Melo MD 23
Elliott refused to go down without a fight in their closing loss to Team Spartans after a tough matchup with NY Lightning. The shifty guard got it going from deep, hitting perimeter shots off the bounce in rhythm to keep his team in the game. He understands how to play the game the right way, hitting his teammate with the extra pass to go from a good look to a great look for Team Melo. Elliott competes extremely hard defensively every possession, fighting over screens to stay chest to chest with his man from the top of the key to the wing. Comes away with loose balls, times steals without putting himself out of position defensively, and does a great job as the vocal leader for his team.
’25 6’ CG Davin Chandler– Team Melo MD 23
Chandler lived in the paint for Melo, showing soft touch and perfect arc on floaters from multiple spots in the paint. When he sees a gap in the defense he hits the hole like a running back, at one point he forced his opponent to switch to a 2-3 zone to provide more help defense on his drives to the basket. Good length, speed, and IQ.
Other prospects that impressed:
’26 5’8 PG Geremy Clark Team Takeover
Lefty, quick, very patient with the basketball, devastating at the top of TTO’s full court press, plays with his head up, changes gears well
’26 6’3 F Tariq Boney Team Takeover
Energy big, plays with an effusive joy that is contagious amongst his teammates, pounds the boards for rebounds, runs the floor and carves out space for post touches in transition, competes hard defensively
’25 6’2 F Jeremiah Koger– Team Melo MD 23
Great tools, plays physical defense, good passer out of the high post, blocks shots, finishes well at the rim
