The DMV is always a hotbed for high school basketball and one of the players from the 2026 class from the DMV that is getting the most recognition right now on a national level is guard Jasiah Cannady. Cannady just led his PYBL team to a championship and was named the most outstanding player during the regular season. Prep Hoops Next caught up with Tee Johnson who coached Canady this summer about what it was like coaching him and what he likes about Cannady’s game down the road...

“It is always fun to coach good players and he is a very good player. I think he is still better than a lot of people think he is. Being on the inside of things, I see the type of worker he is and what he brings to the table everyday. He is a very good teammate and overall is just a great kid. I think a lot of people try to put the selfish label on him but that is definitely not it. He is always trying to make the right play and the same thing he wants for himself, he wants for his teammates.
