Position: SF. PF, C

City: Vineyard, Utah

High School: Undecided

Club Team: Utah Drive

Family Ties

When it comes to Kai Wesley sports have been in his blood. When he was little he could not remember a time when he didn’t have a ball in his hands. “Sports have been part of my family for generations.” Kai’s father and multiple uncles played college basketball and a few made it to the professional level as well. On his mother’s side athletics were a staple as well. Overall, they all enjoyed playing a little of everything, just like Kai.

3-Sport Athlete

Kai is a three-sport athlete as he plays on the diamond on the field to add to his play on the court.

Baseball: Pitcher, First Base and Left Field

Football: TE, WR and DE

Basketball: SF, PF, C

What are somethings that you’re working on this offseason?

I have been working on my shooting range and ball handling ability.

You recently played in the great Western Classic, what are some things you learned from yourself and your game?

In the great Western Classic I was playing on a different team than I usually play with and we were missing a few guards. This made me handle the ball more than I usually do. It was great because I was able to get in-game reps. On the other hand it also showed me some flaws in my ball handling and that’s why I am working on my handles.

What are your favorite home cooked meals?

Steak and home made Mac ‘n Cheese

What are your goals when it comes to basketball?

I just want to continue to get better everyday and play at the highest level possible.

Do you have a dream college?

North Carolina

Kai has great height for his age. While he will likely surpass 6’7 he has the athletic ability to perform at a high level at any sport. The fact that he is playing three sports could serve him well on the basketball floor. His hand-eye coordination is elite. He has soft hands and he embraces physical play.
