Below is a list of players who play the game with intelligence at an early age. These athletes do not just depend on physical strengths & gifts but their knowledge of the game. They see the play before it happens- these prospects are always one step ahead. These prospects thrive because of their awareness on both ends of the court.
Kymani Weathers – 2026
To start this list of Midwest standouts I’d like to step outside the box and highlight a player who is turning heads in another region. Kymani Weathers- a Florida prospect, is a do-it-all player who plays the game with an impressive competitive edge. He can score on all three levels on the offensive and shows great hustle by being the first player down the court more times than not. Weathers can guard all positions on defense and proves to dominate the paint with outstanding stats in the block and rebounds category.
Jackson Corbin – 2027
Is a pure point guard who leads his team with poise. His knack for finding his teammates makes a major impact. His presence and court vision are mature for his age, and his understanding of spacing is a coach’s dream.
Jalen Brown – 2026
A lengthy guard who attacks with determination, Brown is rarely deterred from getting to his spot. He is capable of filling it up in various ways; including taking it coast-to-coast, or knocking down shots in catch and shoot situations.
Trey Resch – 2027
A combo guard who spaces the floor with consistent points from range. Resch will make teams pay when given space. The crafty guard shows great touch with floaters around the basket.
Sam Richter – 2026
Richter is a two-way playmaker who makes an impact with his high-level awareness on the floor. He can thread the needle to find his teammates for easy baskets, and also turn defense to offense with great presence in the passing lanes. His impact and leadership are beyond the stat sheet.
Zavier Zens – 2026
Zens is a tough cover as an inside-out scorer. From his ability to stretch the floor with his stroke from range to his heady post moves in the paint, he proves to be a matchup nightmare. He can shoot over smaller matchups and pull defensive anchors out of their comfort zone.
