Big Screen to the Hardwood
Trystan like other young players have different ways that they get into the sport. Trystan credits the clever production of Space Jam as the reason he got into basketball. How would you describe your style of play?
My style of play is more of a playmaker because I like to break defenses down and look for open teammates. I also feel like I am a shot creator because I can create my own shot off the dribble. I can also knock down threes when I need to as well. I like to pattern my game after those 90’s greats like Allen Iverson, Jason Williams and Facu Compazzo.
What would your coaches say about your game?
My coaches would say that I am an extension of them on the court. They always want me to be more vocal. They want me to execute plays and make sure my teammates are all in the right spots. They want me to get everyone involved.
Do you have a dream school?
My dream school is Duke University, it has been since I was little and it still is.
Colorado has a deep Class of 2026, what are you doing to keep pace?
The Class of 2026 in Colorado is deep I am trying to get to the national level. To answer the second part of the question I am working on my craft in general and my IQ. I am working on my shooting and strength. I just want to outwork everyone.
What’s the culture of basketball like in Colorado?
The culture is small but it is growing. Colorado is overlooked compared to other big states but this class of 2026 might change that.
What is your typical day like when it comes to basketball and training?
Since I am getting ready to to start high school ball next season I am training 5 days a week for 2 hours and then I also have my team practices. Then I also have games on the weekends. Usually when I train I head straight tothe gym after school, then head to team practice after that.
