How long has the program been around?
We have had a middle school program for about 10 years now.
What are some of the things you focus on as a program?
The focus with the Soldiers is “Work Ethic”! We make sure our players know the difference between having goals & dreams and working for them. Anyone can dream big, HS, NCAA, Overseas, NBA but what are you doing daily to work towards taking yourself in that direction? We also know that every kid in our program won’t play college or go pro, but having a legit work ethic will take you anywhere you want in life! With the Soldiers… It’s always bigger than basketball!

Columbus Palmer - Tough guard with an amazing ability to get to the rack. On the other end of the ball he is a "Pit Bull". He is that player that can change the game on either end.

Columbus Palmer - Tough guard with an amazing ability to get to the rack. On the other end of the ball he is a "Pit Bull". He is that player that can change the game on either end.
Kiefer Johnson - Russell Westbrook 2.0 without the turnovers. This kids athleticism will take him far if he chooses to pursue a career in sports. His game and IQ are catching up to his natural gift of being athletic. Defenses have a hard time staying in front of him and being that he is an amazing finisher at the rim, it gets real scary for any team we play.
Class of 2027
Jerry Stokes - The ceiling is really high for this kid, which is scary because he is already recognized as one of the top 2027 guard on the west coast by a few media outlets. An athletic floor general who wants that ball and has made several game winning shots in that exact situation and probably will throughout his playing career.
Kannon Seals - Work Ethic is probably the best way to describe this kid. The shortest kid on the team but probably has the biggest heart. Always in the gym working on his craft, the kid is determined to be the best version of himself daily. On the court his IQ, handles and ability to shoot make him a threat at al times. He is the kid that will pass up a good shoot to get the ball to a teammate for a great shoot!
Anthony “Ant” Lee - Total gym rat. Smaller guard with grit, IQ and an amazing ability to shoot the ball. Kid has knocked down 4 or more threes point shots in several games and we don’t expect that to change anytime soon. Will definitely be one of the best players in the city when he get to high school.
The San Diego Soldiers believe in an individualized training approach as they train every player differently in order for them to reach their potential.
