Over the years Darien Wilson has been able to gather some of the best talent from Texas and have them compete at a high level. We talked with Darien about his program.
“Our program is six years old. My partner and I both played college basketball but she wanted to recognize Pat Summit’s name because she played under Pat at Tennessee. We still have some connection to the Pat Summit foundation and that is why we wear Tennessee Orange. We like to start really training these kids at an early age and have had success doing that. We really put an emphasis on putting these kids through a lot of skilled training at a young age.”
We know that Wilson has a lot of talent in his program and he was able to give us a few names to watch out for.
2028 Johnathan Rodriguez: “Lockdown defender and a a good floor general.”
2028 Beckham Hopkins: “Knockdown shooter, he shoots the basketball at a 50% clip.”
2028 Josiah Rose: “Great footwork, he can shoot it from midrange and outside. Finishes well with both hands.”
2028 Kam Ijeh: “He is great off the dribble and is another guy that can finish with both hands.”
2027 Jonathan Lungeni: “Can jump out the gym. He is a great ball handler, good shot from outside, plays unselfish and is a lockdown defender.”
2027 Blake Wilson: “He has a devastating jump shot as he is a bullseye shooter. He is a big guard for his age and can finish well with both hands. He has the ability to defend the opposing teams best player.”
2027 Josiah Jenkins: “He is a lockdown defender for us. He has a unique ability to steal the basketball, has a good passing ability and can really score.”
2026 David Coe: “He can do it all for us and I think he has a lot of potential going forward. He is a great ball handler, can shoot from midrange and can finish well with both hands.”
2026 Antoine Almuttar: “Antoine is the muscle in the middle. He is a great shooter, rebounder and rim protector. He plays unselfish and plays really well over the top of his opponents.”
2026 Keylan Jones: “Keylan is super quick. He has good shooting ability, can drive to the basket at will and can finish with both hands. Look for him to be a major factor this weekend.”
Wilson is really excited to participate this weekend at the Southwest Kickoff and has some high expectations.
““We are looking to win. We want people to know that Texas has the best basketball in the country.”
