The grassroots season on the PrepHoops NEXT Stage kicked off this past weekend in Oklahoma City. Take a look at the MVP and Gamechangers in the 14U division from the event.

Tournament MVP: Nehemiah Lawrence | 5’4 Point Guard | Team Griffin EYBL

Lawrence was a sharp prospect at PrepHoops NEXT Southwest KickOff as they won the 14U championship. He’s small in stature but plays a big game, especially in the championship game, to pace his squad to victories. He’s a strong guard with solid handles and quickness that made a number of strong plays in the paint with his scoring and passing to seal a championship this weekend for Team Griffin EYBL.

1st Team

Val Halliburton | 5’5 Point Guard | Team Griffin EYBL

Halliburton alongside Nehemiah Lawrence may be the toughest backcourts for a while when it’s all said and done. Both have an ability to get up under defenders and force turnovers while utilizing their ball-handling ability to get to their spots on all three levels. He’s a quick floor general with a ton of skills in his wheelhouse to utilize. He’s another electric floor general to watch with Team Griffin EYBL.

Hudson Franz | 5’11 Guard | Team Trae Young 3SSB

Franz was quite the two-way presence for Team Trae Young 3SSB with his gritty style of play. He’s got a nose for the ball that allows him to defend at a high level and make opponents very uncomfortable defensively. Offensively, he’s coming along as a cutter without the ball in his hands and isn’t shy about putting the ball on the floor and making things happen.

Jordan Valentine | 6’4 Forward | Team Trae Young 3SSB

Valentine is an emerging slasher that’s coming along in the Team Trae Young 3SSB. He stepped up on Day 2, as his squad was without Andrew Harris due to injury, in leading his squad to the championship game though they came up short. He uses his length well to get to his spots on the floor. As he continues to develop his game, he’s a prospect to keep an eye on.

Jaden Parker | 6’2 Forward/Center | Team Griffin EYBL

Parker is a strong-framed big man that makes his presence felt on both ends of the floor as he did this past weekend. He’s a mobile forward that likes to play a physical brand of basketball. He was key in Team Griffin EYBL’s victory in the championship game with some tough buckets in the second half. He also showed he can handle the ball in the open floor and find others in space to make plays.

Ke’anthony Neloms | 6’6 Center | ABC Spotlight

Neloms was quite the presence down low all weekend long. He was pivotal on the defensive end of the floor with his ability to use his length to alter shots and make things happen around the rim. He’s a bouncy prospect at 6-foot-6 that stands out right away given his size. As he continues to develop as a post presence and offensive threat, look for his stock to grow on the PrepHoops NEXT platform.

David Coe | 5’11 Guard | AKR Texas Summitt/Vols Elite

Jaylen Simmons | 5’10 Guard | AKR Texas Summitt/Vols Elite

Xavier Stewart | 6’0 Wing/Forward | Nike Pro Skills El Paso

Antoine Almuttar | 6’3 Center | AKR Texas Summitt/Vols Elite
