Heartland Kickoff: 13U GameChangers

Fortville, IN. — Indiana was the place to be this weekend for all things grassroots basketball and one of the main attractions was the Heartland Kickoff. Some of the top teams from the midwest were posted up at Mt. Vernon High School this weekend and it is now time to dish out some awards from the weekend. Below are five 13U players that made a huge impact for their teams…

Trey Cunningham | Team F.E.E.D.

Cunningham is one of the main contributors for Team F.E.E.D. and was a major factor for the success his team had this weekend. Cunningham stands at 5’10 and can play on or off the ball. In terms of talking about who were the top scorers at Heartland Kickoff, Cunningham certainly sits at the topic of that conversation

Kaleb Elkins | Team F.E.E.D.

Elkins was awesome in every game for Team F.E.E.D. this past weekend helping his team go undefeated and winning the 13U championship. The 5’9 wing is a deadeye lefty shooter that can fill up the scoring sheet in a hurry. One of the main things that was really noticeable was how confident he is in shooting the ball as he is not afraid for the big moments at all.

Tywaine Fuller | Team Teague 2027 Evans

Fuller was another guy that really led the charge for Team Teague in helping them reach the 13U championship. Fuller was scoring at a high clip during the three days in Indy and he is certainly a name to keep tabs on as he continues to get older.

Kendrick Martin / Team Teague 2027 Evans

From the opening night to the final second of the 13U championship game yesterday, Martin was the go to guy for Team Teague. He is a reliable scorer that can score the ball in a variety of ways and it was noticeable that he has made a lot of progress over the past six months when we last saw him.

Xavier Ratica / Midwest Basketball Club

The Midwest Basketball Club program had a lot of success this weekend in Indiana and the 2027 group was a fun group to get our eyes on. Although they were not able to make it to the championship game, they made a strong run to the semifinals and Ratica was a main force. Ratica is the top big man for the 2027 Midwest Basketball Club team and averaged 20 points per game.
