In a state where “everything is bigger” – the talent was just that. The amount of game these young athletes had was equally exciting and inspiring to watch. The games were tough, the pressure on both ends was high-level and individual prospects were showcasing what they will bring to the next level of hoops.

Take a look at the guys who caught my eye as being the clear Game Changers on winning over the weekend at Lonestar State Showdown.

Carmelo Mason | ABC Spotlight 2030

Mason was the heartbeat of ABC Spotlight with his; big shot-making ability, vocal leadership, and self-sacrificial play. A deep-range threat that can also create in the in-between game, Mason kept the defenses picking their poison. He has the ability to heat up quickly and hit shots in succession. His hustle and selflessness were contagious to his teammates.

London Jackson | Texas Grind 2029

Jackson is a physical presence who; consistently was in position for boards, was a brick wall when setting ball screens to free up a teammate, and his hustle rewarded his team with extra possessions. His willingness to advance the ball pushed the pace for Texas Grind. The point forward mentality impacted winning basketball.

Jeremiah Colbert | Texas Impact 2028

Colbert had little to no issues getting to his spots for Texas Impact. His change of pace and direction made him a tough cover. He was an impact scorer due to his incredible balance and touch on his runners and floaters. His leadership and coach on the floor mentality were a game-changer.

Langston Cordova Giles | Team Ferrari 2028

Excellent movement off the ball, tremendous pace with the ball, microwave shooter.

Cordova-Giles has a knack for getting open off the ball. His pace and motor were relentless and it resulted in open looks for him throughout. Team Ferrari relied on his ability to heat up from range. His poise and focus were on display against tough competition.

Tony Okorodudu | Southern Assault 2029

Okorodudu was tough to stay in front of all weekend. His shifty ball handling and ball security were a reliable factor for Souther Assault. He attacked the paint off the pick and roll well and made timely skips and pocket pass to teammates. The lightning-quick guard weaved through and evaded pressure on a consistent basis.
