From calculating my notes from this weekend, I broke the number down to three middle school prospects that really thread the nettle to the top of my list for their: diving for loose balls, playing with physicality on all ends of the court, having that finishing mentality when the ball was in their hands, and so many other variables that come in play. These young men are certainly prospects to keep on your radar at Prep Hoops Next, as if I was a coach, these three names are the ones I would be calling for in a game time situation due to their gamer-mentaltiy they showed off last weekend in Eden Prairie
The Nominees
Henry Knudsen | Little Chute, WI | Wisconsin Crusaders 2028
Bryson Elkins | Fall Creek, WI | Wisconsin Playmakers 2028
Dane Sawatzke | Monticello, MN | Minnesota Wolves 2027
THE MVP
Henry Knudsen | Little Chute, WI | Wisconsin Crusaders 2028
Henry hit the nail on the head from all cylinders of the basketball court from what I got to watch this weekend from scoring from all levels, being an excellent communicator, and most of all what we look for on this team, one that will dive for any loose ball that came the Wisconsin Crusaders way weather he could get it or not. Henry was consistently on the floor or around the sidelines working his tail off to give his team more opportunities. Seldomly do I ever put one prospect on two different lists because there is so many kids to cover in the gym, but Henry Knudsen was that exception this weekend, which should pave a great sign for his future in middle school basketball and as he gets into the high school ranks with the Little Chute Mustangs. Congratulations to Henry!
