Team Takeover continues to bring high level talent to this event every Memorial Day Weekend and this year is no different. Below are some of the top post players that were in attendance this past weekend…
2027 Derek Beau Daniels | Team Takeover Hart
Daniels is the only class of 2027 prospect on this list but is a kid that absolutely deserves it. Daniels anchors his team down in the low post and has a lot of productivity on both ends of the floor. Daniels has a high motor which helps him successfully do a lot of different things on the basketball court. His ability to alter shots and his consistency grabbing rebounds were two things that really stood out this weekend.
2026 Zyion Chase | Team Takeover
This past weekend was the best I had seen Chase in quite some time which is a very encouraging sign as he is set to enroll at St. John’s College High School this upcoming fall. Chase held his own against some elite competition as he was really aggressive on the boards and played solid defense throughout the weekend. Currently listed at 6’5, it will be interesting to see how much taller he gets which will help us project him at the next level. Once his hands improve and he becomes stronger while catching the ball, that will also take his game to a new level.
2026 Darius Gray | River City Reign
Gray is a name that is popular on the Prep Redzone Next website and for good reasoning as he is regarded as one of the top offensive lineman in the state of Virginia. However, he was a force in low post outmuscling everybody as he is currently listed as a 6’4 and 280 pound 8th grader. He is most likely going to be playing football in college but he has to be mentioned as one of the top post players from this weekend because of his ability to score around the rim so easily given his size.
2026 Kosi Mgbejiofor | Team Loaded VA
The 6’10 rising freshman was a walking mismatch all weekend long because of his size which was a major factor in Team Loaded winning the 14 division weekend at Memorial Takeover. Msbejifor finished above the rim whenever he was given the opportunity and was blocking shots left and right all weekend. There were high expectations when Msbejifor walked through the gym this weekend and he certainly delivered.
2026 Kymani Weathers | Tre Mann Elite
Playing on a talented Tre Mann Elite squad, Weathers might have been the most productive player for them this past weekend in Maryland. Weathers is another kid that has not reached his full potential in terms of growing so we will see where he finishes at which would help us project him at the next level. This weekend he played the role of a big man and was terrific. He was a dynamic two way player that got it done on both ends of the floor. Weathers is currently listed at 6’6.
