For the past six weeks, I have had the pleasure of witnessing some real talent from the classes of 2026, 2027, and 2028! I observed them playing with their middle school teams, so here is part one with more to come!
5’9 PG Jadrian De Los Santos (8th Grader at South Seminole Academy)
This unassuming player loves to shoot and show off his driving skills. He moves well without the ball and plays defense effectively. When he is hot, there is no stopping him from three-point land. He can also shoot well off the dribble. With his height, I look forward to seeing him at the small forward spot.
5’8 PG Kadin Flores (7th Grader at South Seminole Academy)
This kiddo is quick as lightning! This shifty guard can fit through any crack in the defense, finish and score in an instant. He is an amazing floor leader and can shoot off the dribble as well. He blows by defenders so quickly, it is unreal. Kadin can shoot and pass well. He will be force to reckon with when he gets to high school for sure.
5’10 SG/SF Xaedyn Baldwin (8th Grader at Jackson Heights)
This athletic player loves to shoot and show off his driving skills. He is a threat to both ends of the floor. When he is cooking, there is no stopping him from serving opponents and getting to the rim. He can jump and loves to finish in transition. I look forward to watching more of his style of play this summer.
5’11 SG Asa Kohn (8th Grader at Jackson Heights)
A pure shooter is not even the words to describe this player’s skills. He can spot up and shoot lights out if you let him. He smiles as he retreats back on defense, awaiting another go at making the opponent respect his outside shot. Asa can also run the floor and finish with defense on him. Asa will surely be a main threat to defenders offensively.
5’9 PG Jaiden Peterson (FEMALE 6th Grader at Science Charter)
This young lady played boys basketball this year! Her school has one team and was new to the conference, so she was able to make an impact on the game from a different perspective. Jaiden has the keen ability to understand depth perception. She knows how far she needs to be away from a defender in order to light them up. Shooting is what she does well. Her shot is free-flowing and natural. She is not afraid to get rebounds and get tough with the boys either. She played on Varsity this year, with mostly eighth-grade boys. I look forward to seeing her impact the game of basketball in her own special way.
5’10 PG Terell James (8th Grader at Tuskawilla)
This guard is shifty… slipping on ice shifty. He loves to take his opponents 1v1 to the basket. He can finish with defenders upon him. He also has a floater and pull-up that three-pointer that is simply so graceful. He is eager to get the ball back on defense, so his aggressiveness spans both ends of the floor. I look forward to seeing this guard make moves to a program that will harness his innate potential.
