Thompson brought a lot of energy, heart, and intensity that fed off to all of his teammates and eventually led him to make some of the most impactful plays of the weekend during the tail end of the game against Valor/Union, where Thompson was the key to victory, helping his team in a hard-fought matchup, even picking up the steal followed by the layup that gave his team the lead with a minute remaining.
C.J. Wallace | Forward | Cape Girardeau, MO | Semo Family Elite 2026
Super-athlete, C.J. Wallace chased down and swatted shots all day long by tracking his opponent down and timing the block perfectly the moment the ball went into the air. Wallace could nearly jump out of the gym, his bounce was second to none and he got off of the ground insanely quick and easy like a spring.
Anthony Hester | Shooting Guard | Little Rock, AR | Buchanan’s Performance Academy 2026
Anthony Hester continues to be one of the more efficient scorers on the NEXT Circuit. The 6-foot-3-inch lethal offensive weapon was a threat to put the ball in the hole from multiple areas on the floor in an array of different ways, often by using his strides and length to fadeaway, spin, and shoot shots with a clear view of the hoop.
Theo Brannan | Point Guard | Arlington, TX | RZB Elite 2026
It didn’t take long for Theo Brannan to show off his ability to light a team up from three-point range from all around the arc, knocking it down with a fluid shooting motion off the catch as well as the dribble. Brannan’s handle was well-controlled and as smooth as ever, he displayed great use of his off-arm to protect the ball and keep separation from defenders that tried to take away his space. This simple tactic made it easy for Brannan to drive the lane where he always attacked with the intention of finishing with a high soft-touch floater.
Onix Baez | Point Guard | Osceola County, FL | South Florida Blackhawks 2026
Onix Baez proved to be one of the best all-around point guard prospects in the tournament, showing all of the makings of a true floor general due to his vision, creativity, and special type of craftiness. Baez made each teammate around him better by setting them up with passes in positions that they normally succeed in. His drive and kick skills were immaculate, he easily drew the defense in and he always knew exactly where his guys were at all times without looking directly at them. Baez broke defenses down with dynamic creating and scoring off the bounce with quickness and an explosive first step that led him into the teeth of the defense every time.
