Team Takeover continues to bring high level talent to this event every Memorial Day Weekend and this year is no different. Below are some of the top playmakers that were in attendance this past weekend…
2026 Anthony Brown | Team Takeover
Brown is most likely the number one point guard I have seen from the state of Virginia so far and he continued to show why this past weekend. Brown is the floor and emotional leader for his Team Takeover bunch. Brown, who plays best when the ball is in his hands knows how to run the offense for his team, is a really good ball handler, good passer and really showed his ability to score the ball this past weekend. Improving his decision making is an important factor in his progression as he is set to enroll in Paul VI this upcoming fall.
2026 Silas Devonish | Team Durant
Devonish is the guy that makes this Team Durant team go. Devonish has excellent court speed that he uses to race by defenders at the lead guard position. Devonish is also a southpaw that can hit a few open jumpers from different areas on the court in a given game. Whenever the lead guard is one the court for his team, he is an ultimate game changer. Devonish will be attending Bishop Ireton next year and has the chance to make an impact in the WCAC right away.
2026 Kayden Johnson | Team Thrill
A new addition to Team Thrill is the 6’2 guard and is set to become an important factor for Thrill this upcoming summer. Johnson is a legit combo guard that can play on or off the ball. For a rising freshman he has advanced strength and uses that well to his advantage offensively. Going forward I see him being a reliable defender that can defend multiple positions which will put him in a solid position to be a very good impactful player down the road.
2026 Jordan Skyers | Team Loaded
Arguably one of the top overall all around performers from this weekend, the 6’3 combo guard was a very important asset for Team Loaded Va as they went on to win the Memorial Day Takeover Event. Skyers is a three level scorer that once he gets going, he is tough to stop as he can score in bunches. One of Skyers top attributes is his energy which allows him to stay aggressive on the offensive end which ultimately leads him to scoring in a variety of ways.
2026 Chris Washington | Tre Mann Elite
Washington is in discussion as possibly the number one player in the class of 2026 and his performance this weekend at the Memorial Day Takeover event did not disappoint. Washington, who currently is listed at 6’6 was a problem for all of his opposition. Washington showed some improved low post skills as he was finishing well around the rim and displayed a nice hook shot. Defensively he got after it and always remained a viable shot blocker anytime he was on the court. As we have said before, Washington is right at the top of the list for 2026.
