Robert Hunt III
Robert Hunt III
CG  |  2030 Dallas, TX  |  Hunt United

Robert Hunt III is an emerging basketball star and when you watch him play it doesn’t take long to see why. The Dallas native is a supremely skilled scoring machine and ball-handling master with an excellent feel for the game and true shot creation prowess in isolation, this kid is one of those guys that can completely takeover and control the game. Hunt shows terrific mechanics from top to bottom, he has the ball on a string, maneuvers with precise footwork, and finishes well at the basket ambidextrously with poise and balance. Incredibly dangerous when he’s able to size his man up and make a play off the bounce. The quickness he burns defenders with on the floor is elite and often leads Robert breaking a lot of ankles and creating driving of angles with his shifty pace, change of direction, and ability to stop on a dime. A super smooth and crisp handle combined with a deep bag full of combo moves or counter dribbles is what gives Hunt the ability to get wherever he wants on the court at will. Outstanding shot creator and playmaker from all three levels, his pull-up game is lethal from the inside out, and Robert can light it up from three-point range with little to no space when he catches it with his feet set. Although Robert Hunt exerts a lot of energy on the offensive end, he makes sure to bring something to the table on the defensive end and it starts with his quick, strong, and active hands. Hunt shows a knack for ripping opposing ball-handlers clean whenever he anticipates the play and uses his aggressiveness, Hunt plays like he wants the ball more than anyone else on the floor. Good as a help-side defender as he uses his quick choppy feet to cut off driving lanes and crowd his mans space, often forcing the dribbler to lose control of the ball or pick up their dribble. The future for Robert Hunt III is extremely bright, he’s going to be a big time prospect for years to come, and he also has the skill set to become something special. This kid really has that “IT” factor, he’s the clear cut best 5th grader in the state of Texas, if not the entire country.

Niles Neumann
Niles Neumann
PG  |  2030 Bellaire, TX  |  JL3 Elite

Each prospect on this list brings a lot of excitement to the floor but Niles Neumann may be the most fun 5th-grader in Texas I’ve seen. The highly skilled and flashy floor general puts on a show with his ball skills every time he touches the floor. Niles is as pure of a dime dropper as they come, his court vision, passing ability, and basketball IQ is well beyond his years. It’s remarkable how Neumann sees the game and makes his opponent look silly at times with his outstanding ability to read, react, anticipate, and bait a defender with his poise, use of ball fakes, and knack for stopping on a dime. Extremely unselfish, shows true point guard qualities by getting all of his teammates touches, often looking to pass or create for others before attempting to get his own shot. The best thing about his facilitating skills is that Niles makes a lot of throws that lead to points. Neumann has proven to be dangerous with the drive and kick going both left and right due to the fact that he can see all of his open teammates when penetrating the lane without looking directly at them while delivering passes with precision and accuracy. His ball handling and control with each hand is unreal, he’s silky smooth and moves at his own pace with good shiftiness as he looks to freeze defenders with his hesitation and hang dribbles. When it comes to making shots, Niles Neumann is the type of kid that cannot be left open with the ball in his hands or he will knock it down, his consistency from outside is what sets him apart from his peers. The lefty is deadly jump shooter from three-point range from all around the arc, he can spot up and catch-and-shoot off the screen while setting his feet, but he’s at his best when pulling up and stepping into his shot.

Desmond Douglas
Desmond Douglas
PG  |  2030 Houston, TX  |  Texas Assassin Generals

Desmond Douglas is one of the most pure and natural ballplayers in the state and he arguably the most talented prospect out of the Houston area. The offensive minded lefty comes well equipped with a quick trigger alongside the potential to become a true three-point marksman. Douglas is developing in a strong way, he continuously raises his level of play versus tougher opponents, despite the age difference Desmond excels playing up with and against older competition. Very good handle and control of the rock, he makes precise moves, doesn’t waste a single dribble, and always keeps his man on their toes turning while forcing them into tough defensive positions. This guard wins countless battles simply by getting lower than his defender on most occasions and attacking their hip with his first step, showing good start and stop quickness. Desmond’s long and lengthy basketball body assist him greatly on the court and he does a fantastic job of instinctively utilizing his physical tools to his advantage underneath in the rim, not only is his extension impeccable with either hand but his reverse layups are next level, Douglas has shown an ability to change his shot and contort his body midair while finishing with up and under lay-ins, windmill layups, and two hand reverses, as well as inside and outside hand reverse layups.

Ryder Feagins
Ryder Feagins
SG  |  2030 Melissa, TX  |  Hunt United

This Texas prospect is a dynamic player who shows all the makings of a potential 3-and-D sharpshooting scorer that can impact the game on both ends with toughness and competitiveness. Ryder catches defenders off guard with his tremendous athleticism, lightning-quick twitch reaction and movements, unreal footspeed, and blur of a first step which all allow him to blow-by a defender with ease. Highly efficient offensive game, Feagins gets the bulk of his points in transition where he’s at his best and has a go-to shifty spin and finish move around contact at top speed. Ryder Feagins also crushes defenses with his ability to spread the floor in the half court which makes him a major catch-and-shoot threat from beyond the arc, he let’s it fly with great balance, good elevation, a speedy release, and a strong follow through.

Bishop Grace
Bishop Grace
CG  |  2030 Dallas, TX  |  Texas Dynasty

A new name to get use to seeing and hearing is Bishop Grace. This young baller is effective as a primary and secondary guard due to his playmaking with the ball in his hands and his scoring when playing off of the ball, his versatility is unlike most others in his class. Very good feel for the game for a player his age, Grace tends to make everyone around him better with his strong decision making skills, he excels at reading and reacting to the defense, he displays patience, takes whatever the defense gives him, and gets to his spots. Good pace, well controlled handle of the rock, capable of creating space and getting a clean look from the perimeter. Bishop’s go-to move works at a high rate for him, he has a way of using his defenders momentum against them whenever he drives downhill going right before bringing it behind his back to the left where Grace can then attack, pull-up, hesitate, or cross back over. Bishop Grace has proven to be a technically sound player with remarkable footwork that allows him to escape and maneuver through multiple defenders, his shooting mechanics are nice and will become near flawless with time, he even shows the strength to shoot it well from beyond the arc without forcing or pushing his shot. This guard’s touch is soft and sweet on his jumpshots, floaters, and contact layups, Grace makes hitting off balance shots near the hoop look easy at times due to his body control and knack for playing off of two feet. Only time will tell just how good this kid will be, but one thing that’s for sure is the ceiling is high for Bishop Grace.
