Hosted by recruiting legend Tim Davis, the event takes place Thursday, Dec 8th thru Saturday, Dec 10th at Nets on Fire in St George, UT The event featured over 80 teams ranging from 4th grade up to 8th. Here’s a look at some of the top rebounders from the event.

Giles really impressed me with his ability to clean the glass. He’s a big strong kid so it wasn’t suprising to see him snag boards, however his ability to do it in traffic was pretty impressive. In addition to his strength, he showed pretty decent agility, moving laterally and grabbing out of area boards.

The best way I can describe Tonai is tenacious. Andresen was a high motor rebounder who genuinely looked like he enjoyed throwing his body into the fray. Several times he came away with big time in traffic rebounds, wrestling the ball away from opponents. He gets off the floor well, but it’s his combination of recognition skills along with competitive spirit that led him to being one of the better glass cleaners at the event.

Harvey is a player that jumped off the film at me. I first noticed him scoring several around the rim buckets, I then realized that most of those buckets were coming off his offensive rebounds. The forward was exremely active, winning 50/50’s and being first to almost every ball that hit the rim. His effort and energy were consistent and led to him being one of the better pure rebounders at the event.

If there was a category for clutch rebounder Shewe would have won easily. I dare you to turn on the film this weekend and not watch him come down with nearly every missed shot for his ODE team. The rangy forward would come flying into the picture seemingly from out of nowhere to snag a teammates errant shot. He was one of the better shooters and wings that I saw this weekend, but his ability to rebound the basketball was his most impressive skill.

Marshall is what I call a volume rebounder, he pursues every missed shot and by nature of his aggressiveness, ends up with more than his fair share. He didn’t need many plays run for him, because he was more than effective at just grabbing whatever shot his team didn’t make. He was one of the taller players on the floor and also one of the stronger, so of course that helped. His size along with a knact for the ball made him one of the top glass cleaners I saw this weekend.

Hancock has strong hands and the right attitude. He aggressively attacked every missed shot, often time coming out of the pack with the basketball. He has good upper body strength so it was difficult for opponents to dislodge him out of position, his timing and toughness allowed him to win more than his share of 50/50 rebounding opportunities even when being squeezed by multiple opponents.
