Hosted by recruiting legend Tim Davis, the event takes place Thursday, Dec 8th thru Saturday, Dec 10th at Nets on Fire in St George, UT The event featured over 80 teams ranging from 4th grade up to 8th. Here’s a look at some of the top shooters from the event.

Fillmore is a little shooter with long range. He uses a deep knee bend, to shoot the ball accurately from the high school three point line. He showed decent shot selection, not forcing a lot of contested threes, preferring to knock down shots in catch in shoot action. He showed good knowledge of shot prep, staying shot ready for his team.

Everytime I looked up this weekend, Plewe was knocking down a shot. He had one of the quickest releases at the event. The 5’6 sniper played low and with hands ready, allowing him to make several shots over fast closing defenders. Has the potential to be more than a streak shooter, but definetly was a player that seemed to be more accurate after seeing his first one go in.

Lukenga’s form defenitley stands out. He has a push shot, that is not uncommon for players of his age. Using his full body, allows him to extend his range and he proved that he can easily be accurate from behind the high school three point line. He has a quick release and consistent follow through. He and Plewe were one of my most entertaining backcourts to watch this weekend.

I think we know where Rich’s favorite spot is. I didn’t have a chance to get an exact height, however he was one of the tallest players on the floor, and one of the better shooters. He loved to play the role of trailer, running right to the top of the key, before launching his shot. He was accurate from that spot several times throughout the day.

White was a cold blooded assasain this weekend. He has a push release, but he gets it off in a blink of an eye, and can make them both in catch and shoot, and off screens. His shooting was a big part of the success for his CDE squad this weekend, and he looked like one of the most high school ready shooting prospects of the weekend.

I’m not quite sure how many shots Beckstead made, but he made the biggest one of the tournament, ending the event with a buzzer beating three pointer for the Dons. The clutch sniper showed off an obvious quick release getting it off over an outstretched arm. He also displayed some solid mechanics, knocking down several clutch free throws in the game.

Hammer is a shooters shooter. The floor spacing point guard, did a good job of getting to his spots on the floor and knocking down shots. He has a good release, getting his shot off quickly and with a consistent form. Hammer showed a knack for knocking down corner threes, but also made a few from the wing in the games I saw.
