Tyron Holloway (5’3/PG/’27/Avenel MS)

Tyron is a small PG that simply gets it done. The only thing that was a question mark regarding Tyron’s game is the 5’3 height. Besides that, he showed a lot of promise as he is a true floor general. He understands how to control the pace and keeps defenses scrambling when he is out in transition. He has good vision and drops dimes on target and on time. He is a trustworthy guard with a great balance between scoring and facilitating. He scores it all levels and knows how to get the ball to his teammates in positions where they can be successful.

Quais Hafid (5’11/PG/’27/Odyssey MS)

Quais was one of the many guards that took the floor during the weekend. He is a tough cover off the bounce as he has a quick first step and stays getting two feet in the paint. He exploits drive-by closeouts and allows defenders to fly by him or closeout out of control, then initiates his attack. His aggressiveness off the bounce is how he scores most often, but he did show his moments as an outside shooter. His offensive game is a threat whenever he touches the ball because he is a playmaker that can create for his teammates and himself.

Anquan Polynice (5’6/PG/’27/Booker MS)
Instagram: Quan_ap3
Anquan is a small PG but was a beast in one-on-one situations. He is a terrific iso scorer that put defenders on skates throughout the day. He has creativity off the bounce, as well as when he is finishing in the paint. He is quick with the ball in his hands and showed the burst to get by any defender he wanted to. I was really impressed with his ability to create separation off the bounce and get his shot off. As he prepares for the next level, he has to continue honing his schools as he awaits his next growth spurt.

Kovy Artem (5’1/CG/’29/American Heritage)
Instagram: @Artemgocrazy
Kovy is a ’29 kid with a good skill set. He can handle the rock and knows how to get to his spots on the floor. He did a good job attacking off the bounce and kept the defense on their heels. He is a downhill attacking guard at an early age. He is a player that can contribute on both ends of the floor. He showed that he can score the rock, and he has the game to be able to step into a facilitator role. He is a multi-dimensional guard that can hurt opponents in numerous ways. I am excited to see his continued development.

Justin Rosado (5’7/PG/’29/Mater Academy)

For a ’29 kid, Justin showed a lot of promise. He has good size for his age and has a bag full of tools. He has good court vision and court awareness and does a good job getting teammates involved. He also knows how to get his as he showed that he can score off the bounce with his mid-range game as well as from beyond the arc. He is a good rebounding guard that gets out in transition and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He is a crafty scorer, and I look forward to his continued development over the next few years.

Alexandre Forges (6’0/PG/’27/Walter C. Young Middle)
Instagram: ajforges
Alexandre is a young guard that has good height and is a tough creator off the bounce. He stayed in attack mode and was constantly getting in the paint, breaking down the defense. He has a good bounce to his game and can break down defenders off the bounce at the point of attack. He finishes well in the paint and at the rim through contact. He showed that he has the capacity to be a team’s main scoring option. Looking forward to our follow-up coverage on him this spring/summer.
